Dear fellow Indian:
As you can see there are some very very kind-hearted people or human rights activists , who believe that the killers of our former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi
don't deserve 'death penalty'. Along with Mr. Rajiv Gandhi around 50+ security forces died - think about their wife and kids.
Think for a moment that those who died in that bomb blast were your near and dear.
So, tell us one reason, why these killers , those who didn't blink for a second before killing or conspiring to kill a former PM deserve their life ?
Just because LTTE and these people share same community - Tamil ? What about their crime ? Just because we have sleeping dumb But Hon'ble President(s) who took 11 years to deny mercy - these killers deserve a life (2nd chance to live) for their mental condition. What about the mental condition of the wife and kids of those who got killed along with Rajiv Gandhi ? Won't they get mental peace when these killers were hanged ?
What is your take on this to the question asked ?
Here is the campaign to save the killers ..let the world know - what you think..
Dear Colleagues,

The
Campaign Against Death Penalty in Madurai ( A Sleepless Night Campaign)
comprising several organizations in the city of Madurai and convened by
a team of conveners comprising Mr. Radhakrishnan ( CPI Party), Advocate
Bhagat Singh (Advocate, Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court), Prof
Vijayakumar (Former Secretary of MUTA), Mr. Seeni Ahmed (National
League) Dr. I. Devasahayam, (People’s Watch) Fr. Paul Britto, (RC
Diocese of Madurai) Mr. Samathuvam (Makkal Satta Arivu Parapagam,
Arupukkottai) Ms. Sasikala (CHRM) co-ordinated by Mr. C J Rajan,
Director, Tamilnadu Program of Human Rights and Democracy of PW had
together organized a one night vigil against the death penalty against
Mr. Perarivalan, Santhan and Murugan in Vellore Central jail from 7 PM
on 1st October 2011 to 5.30 PM on 2nd October 2011.
The
memorandum that had been signed by all the participants to the vigil
[numbering over 4000 at one point of time and almost 1000 at 5.30 AM
when it culminated] was taken from the PUCL memorandum that was
presented to the CM of Tamilnadu. The copy of the memorandum is also
annexed here for the value that this campaign gives to the PUCL
memorandum.
The
main demand is that the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu use powers for
clemency under Sec 45 r/w 55A of the Indian Penal Code and Sec 433(a)
r/w 432 (7) of the Code of Criminal Procedure. We are also of the demand
that the NHRC which has powers to intervene in matters relating to
human rights pending before courts with the permission of the court,
should intervene positively before the Madras High Court where writ
petitions challenging the death penalty against the three on the death
row have been field and are presently being argued.
