New Delhi, 3 January 2012: According to the Report of the Returning Officer Mr A R Shervani today, 3 January 2012, Dr. Zafarul-Islam Khan has been elected as the President of the AIMMM for a term of two years ending on 31 December, 2013. He had earlier served as President of AIMMM in 200-2010 and as Working President of AIMMM since March 2011.
The Returning Officer also reported the following 20 AIMMM central body members as elected as members of the Majlis-e Amla (Working Committee) of AIMM for the term 2012-13:
Mr. Syed Shahabuddin, Mr. A.R. Shervani, Dr. Abusaleh Shariff, Maulana Asghar Ali Imam Mehdi Salfi, Mr. P.A. Inamdar, Prof. Akhtarul Wasey, Mr. Amanullah Khan, Mr. Bashiruddin Babukhan, Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umri, Hafiz R.A. Choudhury, Mr. Saiyid Hamid, Maulana Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, Dr. S.Q. R. Ilyas, Prof. Humayun Murad, Dr. Arshi Khan, Mr. Abdul Khaliq, Dr. Syed Farooq, Mr. Mujtaba Farooq, Prof. Allauddin Ahmad and Hakim Syed Zillur Rahman. According to the Constitution of AIMMM, the President will nominate a further ten members to the Markazi Majlis-e Amla
