Orissa	SOUTH CO HARASSING CONSUMERS OF BERHAMPUR CITY BY ISSUING DEFECTIVE ELECTRIC BILLS

The South Co has been issuing provisional electric energy bills to its consumers of Berhampur city without taking the actual meter reading.

            According to consumers the meter readers of South Co were on strike for two months and now the company is issuing provisional bills without taking proper meter reading which is much more higher then the earlier bills.  According to the consumers the meter readers were on strike  as per the direction of South co authorities to cheat the consumers of Berhampur city by providing much more higher bills to the consumers. Consumers have been approaching the officers of the company to rectify the bills.  The officers are asking for  the last payment for correction of present bills. Some consumers have stated that the staff of the company misbehaving the consumers on approach to rectify the bills.

                    Why the consumers will suffer for the strike called by the meter readers ?

 Along Queue of consumers is found near SDO Office at Berhampur City since last couple of days .  It is surprised to see that the office of the SDO is running only with a clerk sitting inside the office room with out a computer ever though computer bills are issued to the consumers.    

            The consumers of the City demanding an enquiry against the South co authorities.  Some consumers stated that till today neither the administration nor the media have come forward to ascertain the fact.

The consumers are also demanding to have more ministerial staffs along with some technical staffs to give quick and early relief  to the consumers.

            The consumers of the city request the General Manager South CO to look into the matter in the best interest of consumers / customers at an early date to avoid future complication.
